6-9 year olds (Primary)

Meet Shradha Shah, Fortune 500 software engineer and author of the Coding Through Bedtime Storybooks series, including Amazing Algorithms All Around You and Variety of Variables All Around You. These screen-free, engaging books introduce children (ages 4–10) to the building blocks of coding in the simplest way — through stories they’ll love at bedtime. Join us for a special read-through and see how coding concepts come alive in everyday life.

I’m Shradha Shah, a Fortune 500 software engineer, mum of two, and author of the Coding Through Bedtime Storybooks series. My books, including Amazing Algorithms All Around You and Variety of Variables All Around You, break down big coding words into everyday examples children already understand.

At the Peterborough STEM Festival, families can explore the books and join me for a live read-through session. I’ll share how concepts like algorithms and variables are part of daily life — from brushing our teeth to changing the TV volume.

Children will discover that coding isn’t abstract or complicated, but simply another language for logic. Parents are welcome to ask questions too, whether about the stories or about what it’s like to work in tech.

This relaxed, story-based session is a fun way to spark curiosity, confidence, and creativity in the next generation of coders.
