Race through your cells as you discover how the building blocks of your body recycles old and damaged parts! Have a go at our obstacle course and see how fast you can carry out autophagy (the name of the process that cells of your body carry out) on each of our two routes. Whilst racing through the course you'll meet scientists, working to understand these complex processes, who will explain how each obstacle represents those that your cells have to overcome every day to function correctly.
Visitors will compete in an obstacle course representing two different autophagy pathways (the process the cells in our body use to recycle components and materials). They will be timed completing a series of activities (such as throwing bean bags into buckets, sorting through ball pits, carrying a foam puzzle through a play tunnel, etc) and have the relevance of each activity to the scientific process explained.
