Technology
At the LEGO® model core, the teams use LEGO® WeDo 2.0 components that help develop children’s programming skills through a computer or tablet-based drag-and-drop programming language.
Show-me poster
Teams are encouraged to create a show-me poster that illustrates the different aspects of the journey of their projects and their thinking behind it. These can be any size from flat A3 sheets to full self-standing cardboard boards, be creative and bring them along to the Expo presentation day.
FLL Explore Presentation day
On the day of the FLL Explore Presentation day, teams come together to present their projects to a panel of reviewers to demonstrate their efforts working as a team and sharing their progress.
There is no right or wrong way to construct the LEGO® model and it is not a competition.
Please note: This event is only open to registered teams and their families. No general public spectating is permitted.
Everyone’s a winner!
Awards are given to all teams based on various categories so every STEM adventurer that takes part goes home a winner!
Costs
Every FLL Explore team will need the LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0s or LEGO® SPIKE Essential’s.
Registration costs are paid directly to the IET who will send out your set for the current season along with materials for the team.
If you already have the WeDo 2.0 or LEGO® SPIKE then you are good to go, you can use the kit year-on-year for future expos or your own projects.
