Our brand new fringe event! Saturday July 14th 2018

Introducing the first fringe event for the 2018 Peterborough STEM Festival. We’ve partnered with the Institution of Engineering and Technology to bring a FIRST LEGO League Junior Expo to Peterborough, an exciting STEM challenge for 6-9 year olds.

This year’s theme is Aqua Adventure so teams will research the topic, construct a motorised LEGO model and program it via a WeDo Kit. All teams will then present their ideas on a Show Me poster and come along to the grand final morning for the judges to pick the winners.

Any group can form a team (maximum of six children per team), whether you’re a local primary school, scouting group, code club or just friends looking for a fun challenge!

Click here for full information about the Aqua Adventure.

What you will need

Participating teams will need a LEGO WeDo 2.0 kit (RRP £124.99 +VAT) and a registration pack from FIRST LEGO League Junior which will include a LEGO “Inspire Set” (£40)*.  A discounted WeDo price is available, please register below for more details.

Team coaches don’t need any particular expertise – just bags of enthusiasm to help the children develop life skills while investigating a STEM topic.

After the event there is always plenty more that can be done with your WeDo 2.0 kit to encourage your children further in to STEM activities.

Register now and we’ll be in touch about acquiring your kit and pack so you can get stuck in as soon as possible and we’ll see you at the the grand final on Saturday 14th July.

* Additional funding support may be available for official school teams – please ask for more information.

Explore how you use water at home or in your community, the water’s journey, and how to improve a part of this journey.

Please note, this event is only open to registered teams.  No general public spectating is permitted.
